Patient Safety Climate Survey: Juniper Ward, Southern Health NHS Foundation Trust
Juniper ward is an 18 bedded NHS make acute ward with a further 6 MOD speciality beds. They have been working on a broad range of change ideas to facilitate a least restrictive, safe and kind atmosphere for the benefit of all and the recovery of all the patients. Early on in the work, a Peer Support Worker with the team spoke to a number of the men on the ward and used the Patient Safety Climate Survey to gain an insight into how people felt and what mattered most to them. The themes from the survey were discussed and resulted in changes to blanket rules , access to rooms and items and the ward round process.
