Sharon Elliott, mental health nurse, at Gloucester Health and Care explains how her Trust have adopted and adapted ideas share within the Collaborative to support a reduction in restrictive practice. This has led to revised training, policies and procedures focused on using the least restrictive approach when restraint is necessary, improving de-escalation and promoting patient’s dignity and their experience of receiving care.
